Enpä olisi heti arvannut että tulen kirjoittamaan tänne jalkapallosta ensimmäisten aiheiden joukossa. En nimittäin ole se mikään suurin urheilufani mutta koska kyseinen laji on miehelleni sanotaanko erittäin tärkeä niin meillä ei kyllä jätetä näitä kisoja välistä. Olen itse yleensä se joka kannattaa sitä joukkuetta jolla on kivemmat peliasut, välillä jopa kallistuen tuomareiden puolelle jos kummankaan joukkueen paidat eivät miellytä silmääni. Tässä tapauksessa kuitenkin Ranskan menestys nosti kyllä tunnelman kattoon kun koko maa seurasi jännittyneenä, joten olihan Ranskan voitto aika mieletöntä enkä voi sanoa etten olisi heitä kannattanut, olihan heidän vatteetkin ihan kivat! Ja ylimääräinen juhlan aihehan on myös se että kisat ylipäätään loppuivat, nyt voimme vihdoin tehdä muutakin kuin katsoa jalkapalloa kesäviikonloppuisin heh.
Pojallemme nämä MM-kisat olivat ensimmäiset mitä hän pääsi “seuraamaan”. Meillä kannatettiin tietysti Ranskaa, joka on kuulunut mieheni suosikkeihin pienestä pojasta lähtien. Ensimmäisten kisojen kunniaksi poika tarvitsi tietysti teemaan sopivat vaatteet ja asuja kertyikin lopulta kaksin kappalein. Mieheni toi ensin valkoisen asun mutta seuraavana päivänä oli alkanut epäröimään värivalintaa ja saapui kotiin sinisen asun kanssa. Tässä vaiheessa koin parhaaksi pitää suuni kiinni siitä mitä olin mieltä 1,5-vuotiaan pojan jalkapallovaatteiden tarpeelle, olenhan itsekin usein syyllistynyt hankkimaan esim suosikkipaitani tai kenkäni kaikissa mahdollisissa väreissä. Onneksi toiselle asulle löytyi myös käyttäjä kun poikamme nalle liittyi seuraamme jännittämään pelin kulkua.
Ranskalaiset ovat jalkapallokansaa ja kun selvisi että Ranska pelaa finaalissa, alkoi kaupunki virittäytyä lopulliseen juhlatunnelmaan. Ikkunoista ja parvekkeilta ripustettiin viimeistään tässä vaiheessa ne Ranskan liput, kahviloita koristivat ilmapallot ja muut koristeet Ranskan väreissä. Olipa meidän lähikauppa Monoprix:kin hyllyt laitettu uusiksi kisojen vuoksi. Viikonloppu oli hyvin juhlapainotteinen kun lauantaina vietettiin Ranskan itsenäisyyspäivää joka huipentui illan ilotulituksiin Eiffel tornista. Sunnuntai alkoi siis jo valmiiksi juhlatunnelmissa ja aamusta alkaen skootterit ja autot ajelivat kaduilla tööttäillen, ihmiset ja liput auton ikkunoista heiluen. Myös ihmiset olivat kirjaimellisesti pukeutuneet lippuihin, en tiedä mistä kaikki olivat ne tarvikkeensa kaivaneet sillä sen verran paljon lippuja kaupungilla näkyi.
Katsoimme peliä ihan vaan kotona omassa kisakatsomossamme, pelin ajaksi kadut hiljenivät täysin ainakin meidän kulmilla. Maalien jälkeen kaduilla raikasi aivan järjettömät huudot kun ihmiset huusivat ikkunoista ja parvekkeilta lippujaan heilutellen. Suomalainen sisimpäni oli ensin vähän kauhuissaan kun katselin parvekkeelta touhua ja vastapäisen talon asukkaat yrittivät yhtäkkiä hirveästi kommunikoida kanssani vilkutellen ja huudellen lippujen ja muiden asusteiden kanssa. Ensimmäinen ajatukseni oli että eihän tässä nyt voi alkaa naapuritaloon huutelemaan kuitenkaan. Toivuttuani alun järkytyksestä hain poikani kanssani parvekkelle ja hän hoiti puolestani pisteet kotiin naapureilta ja ohikulkijoilta jalkapalloasussaan, hyvä hankinta siis!
Voiton selvittyä kaupunki kirjaimellisesti sekosi, kadut täyttyivät ihmisistä ja autot jatkoivat tööttäilyä. Olin alunperin päättänyt etten todellakaan lähtisi ulos jos Ranska voittaa mutta mieheni oli niin innoissaan ettemme kuitenkaan voineet vastustaa kiusausta mennä vähän katselemaan miten “torilla tavataan” täällä toimii. Insta-storyjani seuranneet ehkä huomasivatkin että tunnelma oli kyllä aika sanoinkuvaamaton. Ihmiset olivat niin innoissaan, kaduilla olivat sekä nuoret että vanhemmat kaikki yhtä mukana juhlinnassa liput heiluen ja Marseljeesia laulaen. Juhlat jatkuivat myöhään yöhön kun autot ja skootterit ajelivat ympäriinsä tööttäillen, aamulla kaupunki alkoi hiljalleen palata takaisin arkeen vaikka muutamista ikkunoista vielä roikkuivat ne liput ja työmatkalaisten seasta saattoi vielä bongata laukuista pilkottavia lippujen tikkuja ja pelipaitoja. Tänään illalla juhla huipentui vielä Champs-Elysées:ille kun joukkue palasi kotiin. Aika mieletön loppuhuipentuma siis poikamme ensimmäisille kisoille! Saa nähdä missä tunnelmissa seuraavat kisat vietetään neljän vuoden päästä, ehkäpä tuolloin itsekin hankin lipun tai kasvomaalia ainakin varalle jos en vielä pelipaitaan uskaltaudu.

I can’t say I’m the biggest football fan (this will most likely be my one and only football post ever) but my husband definitely is so we have been watching tv the whole summer, double yay! This was also the first World Cup our son got to “experience” so my husband made sure he got the whole experience with both French team outfits. A boy can never have too many football shirts they say.. For the finale he decided to wear the blue shirt so his bear got to wear the white one. After the match we decided to go out for a walk to see the city celebrating. Couldn’t be happier for the French team, félicitations Les Bleus and thank you for making our sons first World Cup so special!
